  • what I learned during my last two 10ks

The past two Saturdays I ran a 10k. One is Wesley Chapel and one in Tampa. Each one was one that required repeating loops.

what I learned was that I really don’t like repeating the route during a race.

  • Race Calendar goals

I am not currently signed up for any races. This past weekend, I ran a very small 10 km near my neighborhood. This was the first race I had run since Gasparilla back in February.

It was nice to run a race because it makes me run faster. This was such a small race. It was nice in that it was easy to get in and get out. It was hard because there was no one around me most of the race. These races are good for the ego because I got to take home a little trophy. Yes, it was soooo small, but it still felt good to do well.

After writing that last paragraph, I signed up for another 10K for this upcoming weekend. It is a bigger race than the last. Also, there will be a lot of people there faster than me. I ran 3 miles last night and now I need to get in 4 or so tomorrow.

  • Hello World!

I am so new to blogging and am not trying to attract an audience. This is my attempt at tracking running in my fifties. I have always wanted to be able to look back my progress. This seems a better way than a notebook.

  • first post

While I have been running for over 20 years, I just turned 50…so I am new to running in my fifties🤗. I have run many races from 5ks to half marathons. I have never run a marathon and never want to run one. I have some goals, get faster at the 10k run and run a series over a long period of time.
